For Christmas this year I decided to bake cookies for the Sparks side of the family. Homemade chocolate chip cookies dipped in milk chocolate. Homemade peanut butter cookies with a hershey kiss in the middle. Homemade oatmeal cranberry cookies, which seemed kind of bland to me, so Tyr added cinnamon and cut up tootsie rolls to the batch, he said that made them taste better. The fourth cookie was not homemade, I bought pre-sliced sugar cookies with Christmas trees already on them. Once baked I put cream cheese frosting in the middle of two of the cookies, then rolled them in red sprinkles. It was Nate's dream come true.
I love the fact that I had all ingredients (with the exception of the pre-made sugar cookies and frosting) already in my pantry. Home made things seem more personal and thoughtful, and I really did enjoy baking. I should bake more often.
